Master Degree After Bachelor’s – There was a time when it was necessary to have a bachelor’s degree; when the B.S. serves as an acceptable standard of an educated and employable adult. But now, the bachelor’s degree seems to be on the wane, although frankly, the benefits of having any kind of college degree, high school degree or beyond, are indisputable compared to not having a degree.

The value of having a degree can be seen by looking at the results of a new Pew Research Center survey of 2,002 young people, supplemented by Pew Research analyzing economic data from the US Census Bureau.

It became known to millions of men and women after the Second World War, with soldiers returning home from the front – that you need a college degree to get a good job – which leads to an attack on colleges and schools.- near the university. This is where high school education changed from traditional. Now, there are a lot of young people who are starting to work with a bachelor’s degree.

Listen to these facts: In 1950, about 34 percent of adults completed high school; today, more than 30 percent have completed high school. In 2010, colleges and universities awarded more than 1.7 million degrees, a number that the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) expects will reach nearly 2 million. by 2020.

The increase in the college-age population and the increase in enrollment have contributed to the increase in college enrollment. Between 2000 and 2011, the population aged 18 to 24 increased from 27.3 million to approximately 31.1 million. The number of children between the ages of 18 and 24 who enrolled in college was also higher in 2011 (42.0 percent) than in 2000 (35.5 percent). This fall, these college-aged students will be joined by approximately 8.7 million older students age 25 and older.

The number of master’s degrees awarded, about 657,000 in 2009, has doubled since the 1980s, and the increase has increased significantly in the past two decades, said Debra W. Stewart, president of the Board of Governors. About 2 in 25 people aged 25 and over have a master’s degree, about the same rate that had a bachelor’s degree or more in 1960.

What Is A Bachelor’s Degree? Requirements, Costs, And More

Linda Serra Hagedorn, former president of the Association for the Study of Higher Education and assistant professor at the University of Iowa in Ames, Iowa said:

But among employers, not all BSs are created equal. In many places around the US, having a bachelor’s degree is not enough to get you out. “A bachelor’s degree is what a high school diploma used to be,” added Caryn McTighe Musil of the American Association of Colleges and Universities in an article published in the Christian Science Monitor Sun, 17 Jun 2012.

The danger is that more and more Americans will have student loans and degrees (BS) that don’t guarantee a high-paying job… or a job, these days. A comparison of the unemployment rate for BS holders over the years confirms this.

Colleges attract more graduates than the market can handle, and a master’s degree is required to stand out to job seekers — that is, or a degree from an unaccredited university. University and director of the Center for College Affordability and Productivity, told N.Y. Time. From the 2001-02 to 2011-12 academic year, the number of degrees awarded increased by 71 percent, from 595,100 to 1 million, and the number of bachelor’s degrees awarded increased by 39 percent, from 1.3 million up to 1.8 million.

Master’s Vs Bachelor’s Degree

The better the market, the more pressure is placed on employers to hire the best candidates. A high school diploma is all you need to get where you want to go. Most entry-level jobs today require a master’s degree and almost all senior management and senior positions require a master’s degree.

But even for jobs that don’t require a high school education, some employers are starting to use graduate degrees as a filter. “There’s been a bit of a shift in hiring for advanced degrees, especially master’s degrees — not MBAs, but any kind of master’s degree,” said Edwin Koc, director of policy and research at the National Association of Colleges and Employers. Koc said that many people in his organization were hiring people with a master’s degree in engineering to do jobs that they thought only required a degree.

So… what do you offer? Today a bachelor’s degree is required to get your degree. Two-thirds of employers say they don’t set degree requirements, or only want those with special needs. But apparently B.S. Evidence shows that employers want. Although employers use college as a way to demonstrate discipline and drive to job candidates, some think that having just a “B.S.” is less effective in new hires.
